To steer our ambitions in the right direction, we want to strengthen the Innovation team with knowledge and expertise on Product to Market. Together with the Innovation team and reporting into the Strategy Director, you will drive innovation for Last Mile Solutions.
Your role
We are looking for an Innovation Manager who is naturally connecting people and product, and is devoted to innovation.
The Innovation team focuses on rapidly developing and testing proofs of concept (PoCs) to explore new product ideas and business propositions. As an Innovation Manager you will play a key role in designing, developing, and launching prototypes, bringing ideas to life in a fast-paced, agile environment. Your work will directly contribute to validating new concepts from both a technical feasibility and commercial viability standpoint.).
You bridge the embedded (IoT) engineering to web, including in our market-leading EV infrastructure platform, and collaborate with the team of engineers on product-related topics. Together, you will work on creating creative solutions for smart charging (vehicle-to-grid, net de-congestion, plug and charge, co2 certificates) and other areas.

Your main responsibilities
Your primarily responsibilities are rapid testing of new propositions for (in)validation, developing POC’s and aligning the innovation team with the other departments and company objectives. Meanwhile you create the necessary conditions without delineating too much.
In this role you combine product positioning internally and externally with thinking strategically about our growth ambitions. You evangelize innovations within and outside of the organization and bring people along in innovation and change.
What will you do?
- Identifying innovation opportunities: You will keep an eye on market trends, competitors and technological developments and identify opportunities for innovation within the organization.
- You think in terms of opportunities and are able to take them further to the next phase in a structured and disciplined way.
- Initiating, managing and supervising innovation processes, all in relation and alignment with other core processes of the company.
- You quickly develop ideas into a first POC for (in)validation.
- You make sure POC’s that are successfully validates are landing on the product roadmap and product development team to ensure they become part of our core propositions.
- You are the linchpin in creating and fostering a culture of experimentation, learning and collaboration within the organization.
- Actively contributing to the strategy and strength of the innovation team.

For a good match, we are looking for an analytical, enterprising, convincing personality who comes up with creative and innovative ideas and knows how to take them further. We would like to see the following in your profile:
- A completed education and work experience in the direction of innovation, growth hacking, industrial product design, technical or business direction.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in an international scale-up environment
- An entrepreneurial/ growth hacking mindset.
- Experience in directly collaborating with a software engineering team.
- Strong communication skills and proven competency in connecting people.
- Excellent collaboration, team orientation and stakeholder management.
- Execution power, you really know how to take innovations further and accelerate them through a culture of learning and experimentation.
- Knowledge and experience with innovation and lean methodologies.
- You have an excellent command of the English language.
- You are available full-time and willing to travel to our office in Rotterdam at least 3 days a week.
