Your role as Procurement Manager

Last Mile Solutions is seeking an energetic Procurement Manager based in Rotterdam. In this entirely new role you will set up, configure and shape and execute the procurement process through the entire organization.
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services necessary for our business. Besides that you will take an advisory role with regard to procurement. The successful candidate will have a proactive approach and collaborate closely with various departments and support the business in understanding the importance procurement processes to minimize risks to the business.

You will be part of the finance department that currently exists of an accounting, credit control and financial planning and control teams. This separate role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is carried out from our HQ in Rotterdam.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop, implement and enforcing procurement conditions and agreements whilst ensuring they comply with company goals, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality sourcing of products and services
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements, contract negotiations and process optimization.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions. Asses evaluations of supplier performance ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Identify deviations and address any disputes or contract-related issues relatively.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with various departments ensuring procurement activities align with business needs, timelines and budget as well as forecast demands and adjust procurement accordingly.
  • Market Research: to stay up to date and be able to identify and recommend new suppliers and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and cost.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Following good administration keeping detailed records of all procurement activities prepare regular reports on metrics and supplier performance.

 

You recognize yourself in

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (business administration, commercial, legal)
  • Ideally 3+ years proven work experience in procurement
  • Solid negotiation skills and experience with contract management
  • Knowledge of procurement principles, practices and procedures
  • Strong communication, collaboration and analytical skills
  • A strong ability to structure, organize several activities and initiatives
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
  • Fluency in English and Dutch
