Our commitment to sustainability, efficiency, and innovation drives us to develop groundbreaking solutions that redefine the future of e-mobility.
As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a talented Roaming Contract Negotiation Manager to join our dynamic team in Rotterdam. We are looking for a determined manager who is responsible for negotiating contracts and prices in e-mobility world.
Your role
In your role as Roaming Contract Negotiation Manage you will be working together with the team to ensure the best contract management and negotiating as well as prices and services to guarantee the best roaming connection.
In the context of e-mobility, roaming contract negotiations focus on the agreements between charging station operators, electric vehicle (EV) service providers, and other stakeholders in the electric vehicle ecosystem. These contracts are crucial for enabling EV drivers to charge their vehicles seamlessly across various networks, particularly when they travel outside their home charging network’s coverage area.
Your core responsibilities:
- Interoperability Between Charging Networks: Roaming agreements in e-mobility ensure that an EV driver can use different charging stations, operated by various providers, with a single account or payment method. This requires smooth interoperability between different charging networks, often involving technical and regulatory agreements on how the charging stations communicate with each other and handle payments. Charging network operators must negotiate how their systems will exchange data (such as user identity, payment details, and charging status) to enable EV drivers to use various stations without needing separate accounts for each network.
- Expansion and Network Growth: E-mobility providers are often looking to expand their networks to new regions or countries, requiring roaming agreements that allow for the smooth integration of new charging stations. Roaming agreements may also include provisions for expanding the number of charging points covered under the roaming network. This means negotiating terms for integrating new charging stations into the network and ensuring consistent service quality as the network grows.
- Regulatory Compliance: As e-mobility is an evolving industry, regulators may introduce standards and rules regarding pricing, transparency, and user rights. Operators must negotiate their roaming contracts in compliance with local and international regulations. Operators negotiate to ensure that their contracts meet regulatory requirements while also fostering growth in the industry. For instance, some countries or regions may have mandates for uniform pricing across networks or requirements for standardization of charging interfaces.
- Payment Systems and Settlement: Charging networks need a system for settling payments between different service providers when an EV driver uses a charging station outside their primary provider’s network. Roaming contracts outline how payments will be handled between charging network operators and service providers. Operators negotiate the fees associated with transaction processing, the mechanisms for sharing payment data, and the distribution of revenue. This also involves setting up an easy and unified payment experience for users, such as enabling credit card payments or in-app transactions.
- Pricing Structure and Transparency: Charging station operators and service providers negotiate rates for EV charging services that will be used across different networks. The roaming contracts define the costs that a driver will incur when using a station outside their primary network. Pricing must be competitive, transparent, and fair, ensuring that EV drivers are not charged excessive roaming fees. Operators negotiate the pricing structure (e.g., per kWh or per-minute charges) to ensure that they can sustain profitability while also remaining attractive to customers.
