We are Europe largest platform for Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Electronic Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs). We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our international team based in a beautiful office in the historic center of Rotterdam.
Our SaaS solutions connects continuously with hundreds of thousands of Charge Points and services nearly a million EV Drivers . We are running a high traffic, high load environments in a rapidly changing market requiring constant and rapid innovation.
Your role as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
As a site reliability engineer (SRE) you will shape and develop the way our product teams work with our infrastructure platform and enable the flywheel effects that will accelerate the product teams developing on it.
You will have the autonomy to together with your team decide on which components and systems are needed to deliver an infrastructure platform that provides the best developer experience for the product teams. While closely collaborating with the product teams, you are involved in rapid iterations and improvements to further the reliability, scalability, security and performance of our cutting-edge services landscape and breaking any dev-ops barriers you come across. You will help build a high-traffic/high-load platform on which millions of transactions take place each month and is doubling each year.
Your core responsibilities are
- You will collaborate on designing, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure platform.
- You will work closely with software engineers to ensure their code will run on the platform securely, scalable and performant.
- You will play an important role in automating traditional admin work, to make more time for innovation and efficiency.
- You create and maintain standards (sane defaults) like base images or CI/CD pipelines and dashboards that product teams can use.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance overall system health.
- You will maintain and improve our current infrastructure and drive the transition to a state of the art SaaS platform architecture.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve our infrastructure and processes.
What do we expect from you as our new colleague
- Strong drive for automation, recognizing, analyzing, and converting manual processes to automated ones.
- Team player that is willing to back-up other team member’s work, even when outside the comfort zone.
- Experience working in a DevOps / Everything as Code culture, preferably in a complex, matrix organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Docker Swarm, k8s etc.).
- Ability to communicate effective with both infrastructure engineering as well as software engineering in a diverse international environment.
- Incident management based on a 24/7 rotation (On-call rotation).
You recognize yourself in
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 4+ years of working experience in software or as a Platform Engineer /SRE, preferably within a SaaS environment.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) in a large- scale environment.
- Effective communication skills in a diverse international environment.
- Experience with transitioning from a monolith to a distributed system.
- You are willing to work at the office in Rotterdam for 3 days a week.
- Preferably you are comfortable with PHP 7+, ideally Symphony.
