What we built in 2025: a year of platform evolution

Over the past year, we introduced a series of innovations designed to provide greater power, flexibility, and control. Guided by our vision for a fully integrated, reliable, and scalable platform, we enhanced APIs, billing workflows, and daily operations to meet the evolving needs of CPOs and MSPs.

1. A complete API Platform

We transformed our APIs into a comprehensive platform that puts you in control, eliminates manual work, and allows you to create custom applications. Everything now lives at docs.evc-net.com, one place with complete documentation and recipes you can rely on. Noteworthy mentions:

The Charge Station API now handles the full lifecycle. You can create and update stations, push firmware updates, reset stations remotely, and even eject cables when needed. Building your own dashboards and automation workflows? Now you can do exactly that.

The Cards API gives you the same level of control. Create cards, manage blocks, attach them to customers or subscriptions, and control roaming states programmatically. We also opened subscription management through the API, which several partners have already used to automate their entire card provisioning workflow.

The Transactions API now lets you sort and filter by duration, energy, start date, and cost. The Invoices API gives you complete access to line items and billable products. You asked for more control, and we delivered it.

2. Turnkey payment terminals for EV charging

3

We enhanced our Payment as a Service solution by offering a Turnkey payment terminal solution. It’s a fully managed, turnkey solution that needs just one contract and gives you one point of contact—no external acquirer required.

Setup is fast, the terminals can be branded your way, and you get full remote management capabilities. You can deploy payment terminals as standalone units or in kiosk mode, and we improved the kiosk setup this year with more intuitive station labeling that makes it easier for end-users to recognize and select the right charging point.

The entire solution is designed to reduce complexity for our CPO partners who want to be AFIR compliant and capitalize on the payment preference of EV drivers.

3. Smart charging that keeps getting smarter

4

EDGE, our local Smart Charging solution, saw continuous improvements throughout the year. EDGE intelligently distributes power across different charger brands, solar panels, buildings, and other assets while providing reliable local grid protection combined with cloud-based remote management.

We strengthened deployment stability, ensuring consistent performance even in complex multi-asset environments. Connection reliability improved significantly, particularly for sites where different charger brands need to work together seamlessly. We expanded the range of use cases EDGE can handle, from basic load balancing to sophisticated energy optimization scenarios.

These improvements mean EDGE continues to deliver the grid protection you need locally while giving you the remote management flexibility you want from the cloud. Whether you’re managing a simple charging setup or a complex energy ecosystem, EDGE adapts to your requirements. The result is smarter energy use without the complexity.

4. Billing that works with your processes

5

We made billing data work the way you need it to. With the key goal of staying compliant with international legislation, and strong financial reporting for better decision-making. The Customer Reference field now appears in every transaction export, allowing you to automatically map costs to the correct cost centers and employees. We added Total Cost Including VAT directly to the API response—no more manual calculations.

For home charging in Belgium, we solved the VAT rate consistency challenge, so your PDFs and accounting records align perfectly. We also improved the tracking so employees and company admins both see accurate reimbursement amounts and energy prices per transaction.

Payment terminals now match payments exactly to energy delivered, giving you the precision you need for financial reporting. We rolled out iDEAL 2.0 support across web and mobile apps, and enhanced SEPA mandate creation with flexible acceptance states.

5. Empowering company Admins

We gave company administrators real tools to manage their operations independently. You can now promote employees to admin status directly, distributing the workload across your team. Company admins can manage roaming states for employee cards without needing support intervention.

We redesigned the customer approval process to make verification faster and more effective. The new split view separates companies from private users and displays bank account codes upfront so you can spot irregularities immediately. Customers waiting for approval get clear status updates, and the system prevents login attempts until you’ve completed your review.

6. Supporting modern workflows

7

We have made changes that reflect how customer relationships work today. Each improvement saves time and reduces friction in your daily work. We made gender optional in signup forms and added neutral options throughout the platform. Email salutations are also gender neutral.  This is an important first step in off boarding gender for our customers – allowing partners to onboards customers where gender is unknown / other / prefer not to say.

Search capabilities on the platform expanded significantly. System users can find customers by username instead of just (what). You can search for chargers using full customer IDs. We added alphabetic sorting to the Locations API.

Customer onboarding became more flexible, too. We removed the VAT number requirement for private customers and made Customer Reference work the way most companies use it—without requiring uniqueness.

We launched a new Roaming Service, built on the latest OCPI 2.2.1 standard. Our first roaming partner is already live, validating the robustness of the foundation. Throughout 2026, we’ll roll this out to existing and new roaming partners, continuously expanding functionality and value. This strengthens interoperability across our platform and opens the door to new growth opportunities.

7. Flexible price management

8

CPOs now have sophisticated pricing controls for MSP partnerships, which give you the power to grow and scale your business the way you want. You can apply price agreement discounts or uplifts to external MSPs or internal MSPs, with full control over where the financial impact lands. This flexibility lets you structure deals that match your actual business relationships.

The tariff system improved with better type safety, clearer categorization, and the ability to retrieve both active and historical tariffs in a single search. Tariff history is now available per charging channel, making audits and reconciliation straightforward.

8. Expanding to commercial road transport

Iate (1920 x 1080 px)

The ECQ Mobile App now fully supports electric truck charging locations. Drivers can filter for trucking locations specifically and see clear indicators for whether a location supports cars, trucks, or both. As the commercial road transport market grows, this distinction becomes increasingly important.

9. Built for scale

10

We optimized performance where it matters most. Invoice details pages with hundreds of thousands of transactions load quickly thanks to intelligent pagination. The charge points QR view handles large station networks smoothly. Transaction reports now clearly display payment method types, streamlining your reconciliation work.

We also enhanced data accuracy throughout the platform. Customer IDs generate correctly, card counts add up properly, and phone number validation works reliably. These improvements ensure you can trust the data you’re working with.

10. Platform evolution continues

12

2025 proved our approach works: we build the infrastructure and you win in the market. Every API endpoint, every billing improvement, every workflow optimization exists so you can move faster. In 2026, we’ll continue this motion—more automation, intuitive UX, and smarter tools that give you an edge. Our vision is clear: when you succeed, we succeed.

Thank you for being part of this journey, for trusting our platform and services, and for building the charging ecosystem with us.

See you in 2026.
