Smart energy management
Build the charging network, that powers the energy future
The platform to scale your network, drive innovation, and unlock new revenue
Smart energy management
Whether at a depot, city, or region, Last Mile Solutions enables you to scale infrastructure, manage grid constraints, and turn EVs into active energy assets.
11 MW virtual power plant
With a virtual network of 15,000 chargers, Europe’s largest virtual power plant creates 11 MW of flexible capacity, balancing grid peaks and shortages while reducing reliance on gas-fired power.
Smart charging (EDGE)
With smart charging, power is intelligently distributed across different brands of chargers, solar panels, buildings, and other assets. EDGE provides reliable local grid protection combined with cloud-based remote management.
Europe’s largest V2G project
With Vehicle-to-grid, electric vehicles don’t just consume power — they can also feed energy back into the grid when it’s needed most helping stabilize it during imbalances. Last Mile Solutions is the platform behind Europe’s largest V2G project.
Smart charging
Smart Charging solution EDGE unlocks complex grid setups, enabling charger expansion even in congested networks.
Transforming charging networks into intelligent grids
Managing chargers, buildings, solar, and storage is complex. Peaks, bottlenecks, and siloed systems make scaling hard. EDGE aligns all energy flows locally, keeping your infrastructure stable, efficient, and future-ready.
- Prevent peak overloads by automatically distributing power across all chargers and assets.
- Maximise renewable energy by coordinating solar panels, batteries, and building systems.
- Compatible by design as it works with any AC/DC OCPP chargers.
- Designed to scale local protection, combined with cloud-based remote management.
Smart charging for even the most complex grid setups
EDGE enables seamless expansion of your charging network across any hardware or brand. Add AC or DC stations, integrate legacy infrastructure, and centrally manage all assets with full control. No replacements or upgrades needed: just plug, sync, and scale your network reliably.
- Add up to 200 stations with automatic configuration and remote management.
- Always-on local computing ensures stable load balancing during cloud or internet outages.
- Full data recovery when connectivity returns keeping operations safe and predictable.
"Thanks to EDGE’s data, we saw that vehicles were fully charged well before their deadline, allowing us exactly to determine how many extra chargers and vehicles we could add without exceeding capacity. As a result, we have doubled the number of charging points at many locations."Anne-Jan Telgen, Operational Project Manager at DHL

In addition, we actively collaborate with partners to enable new integrations. If you’re working with a system that’s not yet supported, we’re often able to set up new connections quickly, thanks to our modular architecture and in-house development capabilities. We’re always thinking along to find the best-fit solution.
What’s the difference between local and cloud-based smart charging?
We decided that our first product, around smart charging, to bring to market is Edge. Edge Smart Charging combines the best of both worlds: local reliability with remote flexibility.
With Edge operating locally, charging stations remain fully functional and load balancing continues uninterrupted, even if the cloud connection is lost. Load decisions are made in real-time — every second, rather than a much longer time frame. This allows for much tighter control, better integration with solar and battery systems, and precise, prioritized charging based on user or vehicle needs.
In practice, the difference with cloud-only systems is minimal from a user perspective, but the benefits in resilience, responsiveness, and energy optimization are significant. Installing an Edge is also straightforward: once connected to the local network, charge points come online automatically, and from that moment, the system can be managed remotely from anywhere via Edge Manager. A complete cloud solution is being developed. Ask your contact person for more information
How many charge stations can be connected to one Edge device
An Edge can support up to 200 charging stations. There’s no strict limit on the number of connectors — the Edge supports as many connectors as those 200 charge points include.
The system automatically reconfigures connected charge points to ensure optimal performance in dynamic load balancing. No manual reconfiguration is needed — the Edge handles it for you.
