Building a workplace people truly enjoy being part of

There’s a moment, a few times a week, when laptops close during the day.

Not because the work is done. Not because the day is over. But because it’s time to reset.

Some head to the gym at our office. Others go for a run, do pilates, play ping pong, or drink coffee on the rooftop. The activity itself is not the point. The pause is. It reflects how we sustain performance in a demanding and fast-evolving environment.

We build that pause intentionally. Because the work we do requires focus, collaboration, and energy. At Last Mile Solutions we operate in the middle of the energy transition, building the platform that powers EV charging and energy transactions across Europe. It is ambitious work with real impact. Sustaining that pace in a fast-moving and complex energy landscape means protecting the people behind it.

But sustaining performance is not just about energy. It also depends on how people connect and work together.

Connection happens in the in-between

Real culture does not show up in presentations. It shows up in the in between moments.

In laughter during a team event. In friendly competition at game night or a go kart race. In partners and families joining our summer celebration, because work is part of life. On Fridays, that rhythm shifts into a shared cheat day lunch and Friday drinks, a tradition that gives the week character.

When people know each other beyond roles, feedback is easier, trust builds faster, and teams perform better together.

That kind of collaboration only works when trust is built in how we work day-to-day.

Flexibility, rest, and recognition are signs of trust

We do not measure commitment by desk time. Some days start earlier. Some end later. Sometimes work happens from home, or another country for a few weeks. What matters is clarity, alignment, and accountability.

Flexibility works when people take ownership and know what they are responsible for.

That same trust applies to rest. We expect people to take time off and recharge. Recovery is part of sustainable performance.

It also applies to celebrations. When the company moves forward, we pause to acknowledge it. We take time to recognize progress and celebrate wins together. Because progress in a fast-evolving environment deserves to be recognized.

That is what creates the space for people to step forward and take initiative.

Room to explore, contribute, and grow

Growth does not look the same for everyone, and it should not. Some lead, and others explore new directions. Here, that space exists. Often in real projects, where ideas can improve how we work or what we build.

If you are curious about a project outside your scope and can add value, you can step in. If something can be improved in how we work or what we build, you are expected to step forward and take the lead. Conversations about new roles, teams, or paths are open.

We provide support, feedback, and tools, but development is not confined to rigid tracks. Progress often starts with someone saying, “I’d like to try.” And we make time and space to act on it.

What it really comes down to

Culture is not the harbor obstacle run. It is not the rooftop lunch, the bonus or the gym, or any of the visible perks.

It is how someone feels on a random Tuesday.

Do they feel energized rather than drained? Do they feel supported? Do they feel proud to be here and of the work they are contributing to?

Because the work itself matters. Simplifying EV charging and energy transactions across Europe requires curiosity, collaboration, and daily responsibility.

That is exactly why the way we work matters as much as what we build. We explore with purpose. build strong connections and take ownership of our impact. They guide how we work together, how we make decisions, and how we move the company forward.

We do not build initiatives to look good externally. We build them because they shape how work feels internally. When culture is designed with intention, people do not just work here. They choose to be here.

And while we are proud of what we are building, we also know culture is never finished. We keep learning, improving, and adapting as both our company and the energy system around us continue to evolve.
