What is the Open Clearing House Protocol (OCHP)?

Suppliers of software for companies that provide charging station management services often refer to the acronym OCHP. What exactly is this protocol and what can you do with it?

The Open Clearing House Protocol (OCHP) enables borderless charging of electric vehicles over charging station networks. Using OCHP, EV charging service providers can connect with infrastructure providers to provide access to their network.

Open Clearing House Protocol (OCHP) aims to connect market participants in the field of electric mobility charging infrastructure. This protocol allows parties to easily communicate between their own back-end system (CSMS) and a clearing house system.

Like OCPI and OCPP, OCHP is an open source protocol. It provides a unified SOAP-based interface solution. Anyone is free to implement the protocol and actively participate in its development, which is quickly becoming the free international standard in the electric vehicle market.
