50five e-Mobility is the ‘one-stop-shop’ for individuals and businesses looking to install charging stations. The company, based in Den Bosch, has grown in just a few years to become one of the three largest e-mobility service providers in the Benelux. The upcoming years will focus on further European expansion.
“We owe our rapid growth largely to the solid and flexible solutions provided by Last Mile Solutions,” says Boudewijn Boeve, Manager of New Business at 50five.
50five begon in 2016 met vijf medewerkers en verkocht online smart home-producten. Sinds 2020 richt het bedrijf uit Den Bosch zich volledig op e-mobility oplossingen voor het opladen van elektrische voertuigen. Het bedrijf levert niet alleen laadstations aan klanten via verkoop of leasing (charging as a service), maar zorgt ook voor de volledige installatie op locatie door ervaren experts. Na de installatie blijft 50five betrokken bij het technische onderhoud en beheer van de laadinfrastructuur. Voor klanten die dat wensen, biedt het bedrijf ook aanvullend energiebeheer aan. Om het pakket compleet te maken, beheert 50five de financiële afwikkeling van alle laadsessies. "Door de snelle groei van zowel het aantal als de diversiteit van de klanten nam de financiële complexiteit snel toe", legt Boeve uit. Dit is waar Last Mile Solutions te hulp schoot.
The challenge
When 50five pivoted fully to e-mobility in 2020, growth came fast. Too fast for their financial infrastructure to keep up.
Managing charging transactions across a rapidly expanding and diverse customer base – employers, shopping centres, business parks, petrol stations – meant handling dozens of different payment methods, reimbursement flows, and VAT rules across multiple European markets. Every customer had different needs. Every market had different rules.
50five needed a partner who could absorb that complexity entirely and think ahead alongside them.

Last Mile Solutions processes all charging transactions, generates invoices, manages VAT, handles home charging reimbursements, and automatically settles CPO and eMSP revenue for 50five — across all customer types and markets.
Smart charging for grid-constrained sites
As grid congestion became a growing barrier for 50five’s clients, Last Mile Solutions introduced its EDGE Smart Charging solution — integrating chargers from multiple brands into a single local network, with local edge processing to minimise latency and maintain functionality even if cloud connectivity is lost. The result: customers maximise charging capacity within their contracted grid limit, without costly infrastructure upgrades.
Open API integration
When 50five wanted to develop their own customer app, Last Mile Solutions built the APIs needed to make their backend data accessible rather than pushing 50five toward a white-label solution. No lock-in, but full flexibility.
