World’s first Eichrecht awarded to Ecotap / Last Mile Solutions

World’s first Eichrecht awarded to Ecotap / Last Mile Solutions - Last Mile Solutions

The Baumusterprüfbescheinigung

The German national measuring institute (PTB) has awarded Ecotap the
Baumusterprüfbescheinigung for all Ecotap’s public charging stations. This calibration certificate makes Ecotap the first manufacturer of charging stations for Electric Vehicles in the world to receive PTB approval (Eichrecht means Calibration Law in English).

Passing the institute’s conformity assessment assures clients of a fair, transparent and traceable charging transaction. Both hard and software, which was developed jointly with Last Mile Solutions, was thoroughly tested, ensuring an independent charging transaction without the interference from a third party.

“Being the first in the world to have the Baumusterprüfbescheinigung is in line with our main objective: building the best infrastructure for electric mobility in the world. It is a logical development within the charging solutions of Ecotap, allowing people to charge their electric vehicle with full peace of mind.”

Kees van Bergen - CEO Ecotap

Precise kWh measurement finally possible

Accurate calibrated meters measuring volume have been present for decades in the automotive industry (e.g. litres of petrol or diesel at a fuel station). However, a major shift to electric vehicles and remote digital payment has raised the demand for an equally accurate system measuring a kWh at a charging station. That’s why Ecotap and Last Mile Solutions have invested significantly to achieve this level of end-to-end secured energy measurement precision.

“After a period of in-depth development and close co-operation, we achieved this historical milestone. We are very proud that we can offer end-to-end digitally secured PTB-certified charging-transactions to our customers, a necessary step to move forward in the e-Mobility world”.
