Your role as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you will shape and develop the way our product teams work with our infrastructure platform and enable the flywheel effects that will accelerate the product teams developing on it. You will have the autonomy to - together with your team - decide on which components and systems are needed to deliver an infrastructure platform that provides the best developer experience for the product teams. While closely collaborating with the product teams, you are involved in rapid iterations and improvements to further the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cutting-edge services landscape and breaking any dev-ops barriers you come across. You will support build a high-traffic/high-load platform on which millions of transactions take place each month and is doubling each year. Besides designing and implementing this developer experience platform, you’ll have many opportunities to flex your creativity and expertise. From implementing systems to deploying observability, or even stretching to other parts of the organization to improve their interaction with our platform. Moreover, you'll work closely with both front-end and back-end product teams as well as the architects. Together, you'll understand, implement, and support the needs of our products and value streams, contributing directly to our company's innovative endeavors.  

Your core responsibilities are

• You will collaborate on designing, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure platform • You will work closely with software engineers to guide and provide them with best practices or help, support and implement new scalable solutions • You will play an important role in automating traditional admin work, to make more time for innovation and efficiency • You create and maintain standards (sane defaults) like base images or CI/CD pipelines and dashboards that product teams can use • You will maintain and improve our current infrastructure and drive the transition to containers. • All employees in the department cover Incident management based on a 24/7 rotation (On-call rotation)  

You recognize yourself in

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field • 4+ years of working experience in software or as a Platform Engineer /SRE, preferably within a SaaS environment • Robust analytical + critical thinking skills • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Effective communication skills in a diverse international environment • Ability to collaborate with both infrastructure engineering as well as software engineering • Strong drive for automation, recognizing, analyzing and converting manual processes to automated ones • Experience in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Docker Swarm, k8s etc.) • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability (from logging to dashboards to alerting) • Preferably you are comfortable with PHP 7+, ideally Symfony • You have affinity for security and/or performance optimizations. • Social team player that is willing to back-up other team member's work, even when outside the comfort zone • You are willing to work at the office in Rotterdam for 3 days a week

Your role as Product Manager

As part of the Product Management team, you have the unique opportunity to be co-responsible for the further growth and development of our white-label e-Mobility solutions. Our solutions are focused on Charge Point Operators and e-Mobility Service Providers or on companies from other industries who want to become a CPO or e-MSP. In this role we are looking for a Product Manager that has experience in the fields of Payment, Roaming, API’s or Front-end development and is able to turn our roadmaps into reality, who takes charge of a wide variety of initiatives and brings them to completion. You have a solid understanding of managing software products, their propositions and a proven track record to deliver software solutions. In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate closely with all departments based in the Netherlands and internationally.  

What you will do as a Product Manager

• Understand, anticipate and prioritize customer needs • Differentiate and create market leading software products while managing the backlog • Design and execute new commercial propositions • Collaborate closely with your colleagues from various departments • Act as primary communicator to all stakeholders in and outside the company from start till release of each product (feature) or proposition • Keep a fine balance between fulfilling the needs of new and existing customers and our internal stakeholders • Identify and implement external partnerships to bring new propositions to the market • Take a data-driven approach next to your gut feeling while making decisions  

You recognize yourself in

• Relevant work experience in an international environment (e-Mobility or FinTech domain considered a plus) • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience as product manager in the field of software products • Preferably experience with either Roaming, Payment, API’s or Front-End development • You have an excellent command of the English language. Your role as Back-end Software Engineer

In a compact, fast-growing team, we develop software for the next generation of E-mobility solutions. That means not just building applications, but jointly building a new team and platform, with the associated challenges. You are an ambitious, result-oriented, hands-on back-end software engineer. Through your experience and enthusiasm, you contribute to the further development of our product. Your expertise is the basis for the quality of our software. Ultimately, you will shape the next generation software for e-mobility and smart energy.  

What you will do as a Back-end Software Engineer

• You will work on the full life cycle of our products, from understanding the underlying problem, designing the architecture, to implementing, testing and releasing • You develop automated tests to increase quality and test for performance & robustness, including edge cases, usability and overall reliability • You run the product, using observability to identify bottlenecks and fix bugs • You will collaborate with platform engineering to implement new components and systems in our IT landscape, to improve performance, quality, CI/CD flows, or user experience of our platform and apps • You collaborate with other teams to improve the platform at large and scale it • Through these various activities, you will be (co-)responsible for designing and building the next generation of our white-label SaaS platform whilst in parallel you also work on our current generation platform.  

You recognize yourself in the following profile

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent through experience) • At least 4 years of work experience in the position of Backend Software Engineer in an agile organization, preferably product-led • You have attestable knowledge of PHP, SQL, working with queues (RabbitMQ) and noSQL (Redis) ór you have an extensive and varied experience in alternatives • Experience in working with dockers/ containers is a must • It is a plus if you also have knowledge of Symfony, CI/CD and devops-related activities • You are not daunted by breaking down monoliths and legacy code into full-fledged macro-services, refactoring existing code and improving quality • You are keen to iterate on code, develop and improve long-lived products, finding and resolving performance gaps • You enjoy working in a young, fast-paced, fast growth environment • You are proactive and a quick learner and continuously improve yourself • You have an excellent command of the Dutch and/or English language

Your role as a Head of Quality

Last Mile Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Quality based in Rotterdam. As the Head of Quality, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of delivery of product teams by means of coaching and upskilling, setting a technical roadmap, and help implement systems and services to facilitate this roadmap. You will be a part of a talented  and ambitious team driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices to enhance our product quality and customer satisfaction. You will report to the CTO of the company. It’s the responsibility  of the Head of Quality to improve and maintain the quality of software delivery.   Responsibilities

• Creating a roadmap to improve quality of software delivery, including milestones and execution to reach these
• Creating a framework for assessing delivery quality, setting key results, and cooperating on department/company-wide objectives
• Identifying current maturity level on software delivery quality based on hereinabove mentioned framework, and translating that to roadmap items to reach next maturity level
• Implement systems and services to facilitate increasing the delivery quality
• Coach and upskills development teams on improving delivery quality
• Collaborate with other departments on increasing delivery quality, e.g., operations and sales
• Responsible for Release Management/Test setup

Your role as a Software Development Manager

As a Software Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of software solutions. You will manage one or more product teams (6-12 persons). In this role you will collaborate with the product manager to ensure technical health is included in the roadmap, and long-lasting solutions are developed, and set the technical vision for your product teams. In the role of Software Development Manager, you are responsible for the well-being and functioning of all team members in the designated product teams. You coach the team members on a day-to-day level, allowing them to develop their careers step by step. You teach them to work independently, to say no to internal customers and how stakeholder management works. Together with HR, you determine the training needs of the team members, organise brainstorming sessions and you are the first point of contact for leave and absence. In addition to the soft skills of the team, you will naturally keep yourself busy with the technical side. Together with the team, you are responsible for the (further) development of a future-proof technical implementation. You oversee the delivery process, escalate where necessary and you are able to get all team members to work together towards the common goal. You facilitate the making of technical choices (including component choice and service landscape) by the team members. You challenge them, you ask critical questions, you give positive critical feedback and in this way the process will continue to develop. You strive for simplicity and steer towards removing technical debt, maintaining a healthy balance between innovation and maintenance.

Your role as Strategy Consultant

As part of the Strategy team, you have the unique opportunity to be co-responsible for the further growth and development of our company. Our solutions our focused on Charge Point Operators and e-Mobility Service Providers or on companies from other industries who want to become a CPO or e-MSP. As a Strategy Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Strategy Director in formulating and executing strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, market research, and business model building, coupled with proficiency in business intelligence tooling plus strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.

What you will do as a Strategy Consultant

Business Intelligence

• Gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data to provide insights into market trends, customer behavior, and industry developments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and synthesize data from various sources to support strategic decision-making

Competition Research

• Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
• Monitor industry competitors and nearby industries and provide regular updates on market dynamics, emerging trends, and competitive strategies

Business Model Building

• Work closely with the Strategy Director to develop and refine business models that align with the company's strategic objectives
• Analyze existing business models and propose enhancements to drive sustainable growth

Business Intelligence Tooling

• Utilize advanced business intelligence tools to create dashboards and reports that aid in decision-making
• Stay updated on the latest tools and technologies in business intelligence and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights necessary for strategic planning
• Present findings and recommendations to the Strategy Director and other key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

 

What do you bring with you?

• Bachelor's degree in business, management, economics, finance, engineering, or a related discipline. Master's degree is a plus
• Proven experience as consultant or roles covering business intelligence, market research, and business model development
• Deep knowledge of e-Mobility and/or Payment industry considered a plus
• Familiarity with various business intelligence tools and software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent command of the English and Dutch language
• Located in the surroundings of Rotterdam or willing to travel there for 2-3 days a week
